Position Title: Assistant Professor of Communication/Organizational

Located near Atlanta, Kennesaw State University is the third largest university in the
University System of Georgia. Kennesaw State University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Communication with a focus on Organizational Communication. Qualifications include an earned doctorate degree in communication, mass communication or a related field completed by August 2007.
Responsibilities include teaching required lower and upper level undergraduate communication courses such as Intro to Organizational Communication; Discussion Methods, Persuasion, Interviewing Media Management; Writing for Public Communication; serving as coordinator for that course; contributing to the teaching of other communication courses in one of the department's other two tracks: Media Studies and Public Relations; performing service duties; and maintaining scholarly

Qualifications include an earned doctorate degree in communication, mass communication or a related field completed by August 2007. Responsibilities include teaching required undergraduate courses in mass communication; managing a new Digital Media Lab; helping to develop a curriculum for a department aspiring to be at the vanguard of the citizen media movement (especially in connection with journalism and
PR); performing service duties; and maintaining scholarly productivity. Familiarity with new and emerging digital tools such as weblogs, vlogs, podcasts, is required.
